Everyone is playing at Sherwood Park Pool and I have stopped in Bandito Burrito to get dinner.
Oscar is the owner of Bandito and he has a great crew cranking out the food.
Bags full of Grande and No Carne burritos are on their way to the pool.
What's happening in my world…
Mike Salazar came into town with his family: Stephanie, David, and John. We didn’t get to see April, but it is true what everyone say about Stephanie looking just like her mother, April.
April’s brother, Norman Patrick, came with his gang. Norman hasn’t changed a bit.
Stacy De Smet came with Paul, Alice, and Ben. Katie Beth just loves to see Alice and Ben.
We all got together at Mellow Mushroom in Providence so we could catch up. We all had a great time chatting. I wish Stephanie could have remembered Stacy and me, but she was just a baby when Mike and April moved to Texas.
They are having a blast. They are sitting near the outfield hoping for a foul ball.
Charlie ended up getting a foul ball and won the Dick’s Sporting Goods race.
Charlie Jones Winning the Dick’s Sporting Goods Race
Katie Beth is really enjoying Hannah and Charlie being in town.
DiscOasis at Bridge Street
Karen, Katie Beth, and I dropped by the last Bridge Street concert of the summer, which had DiscOasis playing. Our friend Darrell Tibbs was sitting in on drums for DiscOasis.
The band was a hoot to watch and hear.
Karen Jumping Off Diving Board
Karen answered Katie Beth’s call to jump off the diving board.
Karen was brave and jumped.
You may not know that Karen is not a water person. I think I have only seen Karen go off a diving board a couple of times.
In the end, Katie Beth had to show her mother how to do it.
Katie Beth Jumping Off Diving Board
Karen had a great time celebrating her ½ birthday today at the Huntsville Stars’ baseball game. She didn’t know that myself and others had put together a list of wonderful surprises. Matthew arranged for Karen to be the fan of the day so Karen and Katie Beth could ride into the game with Homer, the team mascot.
Many of Karen’s friend were hiding out in a skybox. Karen only had to look up to see them all pressed against the glass watching.
After riding into the game with Homer, we keep Karen on the field and then she learned that she was throwing out the first pitch of the game.
We then went up to the skybox to take Allison Tofflemire’s drink up to Steve Tofflemire. Allison told Karen that Steve and her parents were up there because it was so hot. It was over 90° degrees.
Blowing out Candles
When we arrived at the skybox, everyone was already there waiting. Karen was surprised at seeing so many faces greet her. Janice Houston and Steve Tanner with their daughter Clair, Ann And Jay Kissell, Jeff Thornburg, my parents, Allison and Steve Tofflemire, Larry and Margaret Bennett, Larry Veeder, Meg Leach, Elizabeth and Bob Riggle were there. More dropped in throughout the evening.
We all had a great time and the food from Scott Tolmach of Sodexo was just wonderful.
